TO: ALL SPINNAKER POINT OWNERS
FROM: BOARD OF DIRECTORS, Secretary
DATED: AUG. 30, 2023
I am sure you are anxiously awaiting a report. This is incomplete, but thought I’d get something out to you now and follow up later with more details. Right now we can’t or shouldn’t go out yet. Still verywindy and raining.
We did have some STRONG bands with ferocious winds and rain go through our area during the night, but from my vantage point, I don’t see any damage on our property. I have not been out to survey the south side (4 and 5). But my reporters tell me no major damage is seen.
However, the water is above the sea walls and rain is still falling – so that may cause some problems, esp. for building #3. Many local roads and bridges are closed due to flooding.
BUT we escaped the terrible wrath of the storm. It could have been so much worse. It does NOT look like a war zone as it did after Ian. Just a lot of water.
I had worried because I never trusted that it wouldn’t suddenly change course (as others have done!) and head our way. So that anxiety has passed…. North Florida was not as lucky.
The other good news is we never lost ELECTRICITY and the internet.
I count our blessings.
That’s all I have for now.
